The reserve covers 5,000 squares Kilometers and also boosts the largest elephant population, lions and buffalos in Tanzania. The topography of the park varies from the rolling savannah woodland, grassland plains and rocky outcrop cut by Rufiji River and its tributaries which give the reserve life. Sailing or rafting is amazing game viewing during the dry season between June and October.
Also found in the reserve is Africa hunting dogs, hippos, bushbuck, hyenas, Giraffe, Impala, Oryx, Rhinos, Elands, duiker hartebeest and other game. This reserve is uninhabited area with rewarding game drives.

Flying is the best way to get there, only one and half hour for Dar es Salaam but adventurous drive through the journey of 9 hours to the reserve
