Itinerary

Day 1: Fly In to Selous Game Reserve

Depart Zanzibar/Dar es Salaam at 08:30 by plane for Selous Game Reserve it takes about

45 minutes to Mtemere/Siwandu Airstrip. Pick up and proceed with game drive en route, arriving at your camp in time for lunch.

Rest of afternoon departs for a brief game drive until sunset.

Dinner and overnight at the Selous Game Reserve

Day 2: Game Drive in the Selous & Boat Safari in Rufiji River

Morning game drive at Selous Game Reserve, arrive back for a breakfast and mid morning at leisure, enjoy the Camp/Lodge facilities with the beautiful views of River Rufiji.

 Proceed on a boat safari on Rufiji River (the boat safari normally takes 3 hours). Dinner and

Day 3: Game Drive in the Selous

Full day game drive to the Selous Game Reserve, game along the Rufiji River starting

from Lake Nzelekela, Manze, and Lake Tagalala, visit the Hot Spring depending on the

weather (if rains will not reach this far). Lunch at a picnic site; late afternoon gamedrive.

Depending on your camp/Lodge location you can also visit Hot springs and the grave of Fredrick Courtney Selous. There are several Hot Springs or “Maji Moto” as they are called in Swahili, hidden within the Beho Beho Hills and surroundings in the Selous Game Reserve. Hot sulphurous water flows from the rocks, pours down the mountain in little streams forming a series of picturesque pools.  On the way to the Hot Springs you will pass the Grave of Frederic Courtney Selous, a naturalist, explorer, hunter and soldier, who was killed in 1917, during World War One near the Beho Beho Hills.

Day 4: Return to Dar es Salaam/Zanzibar

Breakfast and then transfer to the Mtemere/Siwandu/Beho Beho Airstrip for 08:30 Schedule plane back to Zanzibar/Dar es Salaam
